    Dear parents/carers and children,

Welcome back!  We hope you have had a happy and fun fillled half term holiday and are ready for the work to begin.

Mrs McConachie – HILTA

I am currently in my 10th year at Hatfield Woodhouse. I have supported every class in school but I must say Year 4 is my favourite. I cover PPA in the afternoons across both key Stages and teach Science, which is one my favourite subjects along with English. Along with Mrs Holt I help run the after school Art Club. I have a son, Thomas, who is 17 and in his last year at sixth form. In my spare time I love going to concerts and spending time with my family.

For homework they were asked to make a model or picture that symbolised a feature of the United States with many great results.

Science

In Science, Year 4 have been learning about the digestive system. The children have loved finding out where the food goes inside the body and what different types of teeth we have. One of our experiments was to use utensils to mash, cut and tear four types foods to understand the differrent functions their teeth are used for.
